Weather, seasons, and crowd levels throughout the year
Cabo has 350+ days of sunshine per year, making it a year-round destination. However, each season offers different experiences, prices, and crowd levels. Here's what to expect throughout the year.
Best Overall: November to April (peak season - perfect weather, higher prices)
Best Value: May to October (summer - hot, occasional rain, great deals)
Best for Avoiding Crowds: May, June, September, October
The most popular time to visit Cabo. Perfect weather, calm seas, and endless sunshine make this the ideal escape from cold northern winters.
Hot and humid with occasional afternoon thunderstorms, but also the best deals and fewer crowds. Cabo is still very much open for business.
Peak season. Perfect weather, highest prices, most crowded. Book early. Whale watching is excellent.
Spring break crowds. Still great weather. Prices remain high. Popular for golf and fishing tournaments.
Shoulder season. Getting warmer but still pleasant. Great deals, fewer crowds. Excellent fishing season begins.
Hot and humid. Occasional rain. Best hotel deals. Good for budget travelers who don't mind heat. Peak fishing season.
Hurricane season (rare but possible). Lowest prices. Very quiet. Some restaurants close for maintenance. Warm water temps.
Transition to peak season. Weather improves, crowds return. Thanksgiving and Christmas are very busy. Book early for holidays.
If you can swing it, November and early December are my favorite times. The weather is perfect, the crowds haven't fully arrived yet, and you can still find decent hotel rates. It's that sweet spot before the holiday rush.
That said, don't sleep on summer if you're on a budget. Yes, it's hot, but the pools are refreshing, the ocean is bath-water warm, and you'll save hundreds on accommodations. Just stay hydrated, embrace the afternoon siestas, and you'll have an amazing trip.
Avoid September and early October if possible - that's hurricane season, and while direct hits are rare, the weather can be unpredictable. If you do visit then, get travel insurance.
